Robert P. Wattenhofer, Project Manager

Robert was born in Park Rapids and raised on the family farm 16 miles northwest of Park Rapids. Robert was also involved in the family's logging operation, sawmill, and during his mid teens, the family lumber business.

After graduating from the Park Rapids Area High School in 1976, Robert attended the Detroit Lakes Area Vocational Technical College taking a 2-year course in residential construction. In this course, Robert had the opportunity to not only learn in the class room about residential construction but to gain hands-on training in the field from foundation to the finished turnkey home. He became experienced in remolding on the job site and building furniture in the Vo-Tech shop. By the end of the 2 year course, Robert had learned how to estimate material from reading blue prints as well as apply what he had learned in the class room to hands on in the field. After graduating in the spring of 1978 with a Degree in Residential Construction, Robert continued to work on the family farm, in the family lumber business and do carpentry work for several people the Park Rapids area,
building several new homes, garages, barns and pole sheds.

From May 1993 through April 2002, Robert was a co-owner of Buds Building Center Inc., which was a full line building center as well as a manufacturing company. Robert was involved with the day to day operation of the building center which included estimating, consumer sales, employee supervision, product ordering,
delivery of goods and problem solving.

After some time off to build his own home, Robert joined Heartland Contractors, Inc. in April of 2004, to help
with estimating and later project managing. His responsibilities include project scheduling, lining up and
meeting with sub contractors, meeting with clients on a regular basis, daily job sight visits, project cost
control and estimating.

Robert has lived in the Park Rapids area all his life and has established many good working relationships with several people in the construction industry not only in the Park Rapids area but the surrounding area as well.

Robert has been a member of the Hubbard County Mounted Sheriffs Posse for the last 10 years. During that time, holding the offices of Captain for 2-1/2 years, 1st Lieutenant for 2 years, Warrant officer 2 years and Training officer 1 year. The Mounted Posse is and has been involved with several area search and rescues and patrolling community events not only in Hubbard County but the surrounding counties as well.

Robert has a wife, 3 sons, 2 daughters-in-law and 6 grandchildren. Robert's hobbies include enjoying his grand kids, camping and horseback riding with his family and friends, home improvement
and the outdoors.
